Beginner Guitar Lessons Tip #1

When checking the tuning of your guitar, check the tuning balance at both the lower frets and the upper frets.

Play, very slowly and getting high sound quality, a scale at the lower fret positions. Then play a scale, again very slowly and getting high sound quality, at the upper fret positions.

Most times, you will detect some slight tuning imperfections that you shall correct.

Want to play a sweet melody?

The Zamba is an argentine folk music and dance, spread, since middle 19th century, through the north-western provinces of Argentina.

"Zamba de Vargas" is a beautiful melody, of unknown author, that became very popular from the last decades of thar century.

It's sweet and melancholic, and is a very nice exercise for the beginner guitar player.

You'll find a tablature and a midi file at Beginner's Guitar Website.

About body and guitar positions

Guitar books, magazines and courses, usually teach to guitar beginners that there's only one good and perfect body and instrument position to best play guitar.

Personally, I don’t think that there should be only one standard perfect position, though, I must admit, that the one called “classic standard position” (with the guitar supported by the left leg resting on a five-six inches little stool), is the one that commonly delivers the best results.

The student should try a few different body and instruments, to find the best one that fits his/her body characteristics.

Welcome to BEGINNER'S GUITAR BLOG!

Hi everybody out there!

Here we're going!
We're just starting ...And we'll be growing every week!

HELP FOR BEGINNERS TO PLAY GUITAR! That's it!
It's all you'll find here.

Now, just as a starting point ...

As music jumps out of the heart, and music jumps into the heart, here are a few thoughts to start with.

QUOTES ABOUT MUSIC

You bring sound out of your guitar; you bring music out of your soul.
Luis BONVIN

After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
Aldous Huxley

There is no doubt that the first requirement for a composer is to be dead.
Arthur Honegger

It is cruel, you know, that music should be so beautiful. It has the beauty of loneliness and pain, of strength and freedom; the beauty of disappointment and never-satisfied love; the cruel beauty of nature and everlasting beauty of monotony.
Bejamin Britten

Music is the silence between the notes.
Claude Debussy

Information is not knowledge. Knowledge is not wisdom. Wisdom is not truth. Truth is not beauty. Beauty is not live. Love is not music. Music is best.
Frank Zappa

Thanks for reading, and please come back soon for more ...
